Program Specifications

Bachelor of Clinical Sciences / Program Intended Learning Outcomes

It is expected that the program will provide opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate knowledge and understanding, skills and other properties in the following fields:

1.      Perform collection and analysis of various clinical samples in all laboratory services, including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, body fluid, molecular diagnostics, and immunology.

 

2.      Utilize the theoretical and practical knowledge in calibrating and operating modern laboratory instruments and perform techniques with the highest quality standards

3.      Analyse and distinguish between the major complementary relationship in dealing with laboratory instruments and techniques required for analyzing the samples in order to reach for proper diagnosis and treatment.

4.      Utilize the practical training in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and interpretation of results when evaluating data and how it is connected with morbidity cases to reach an accurate diagnosis.

5.      Apply the public safety principles, governmental regulations, and environment preservation standards, and hold professional and safe responsibilities while dealing with pathogenic medical samples, chemical and biological hazards.

6.      Acquire technical skills to keep up with scientific development, and applied practical/basic researches on the local and global levels and being involved in basic and applied researches in the field of medical laboratory sciences.

7.      Show commitment and interest in lifelong-learning, be creative and able to think of new ideas, apply modern techniques, analyze the needed information, and reach a new knowledge and apply it.

8.      Adhere to professional conduct, protecting the confidence of  client information and value the privacy of the clients

9.      Acquire effective communication skills to ensure accurate and appropriate information transfer.

10.  Apply administrative skills consistent with the rules of quality assurance, quality improvement, laboratory education, and resource management.

11.  Design and hold workshops and seminars in the field of medical laboratory sciences.​
