2. Assessment Methods

 

  • Coursework and Written Assignments:

    Essays, research papers, and technical reports to assess understanding and the ability to apply concepts to complex geological problems.

     
  • Practical Exams:

    Assess students' abilities in lab techniques, data interpretation, and use of instruments or software tools.

     
  • Presentations and Seminars:

    Students present case studies, project progress, or research findings to improve scientific communication and critical thinking.

     
  • Field Reports and Logs:

    Evaluation of observation skills, data recording, and interpretation from field activities.

     
  • Thesis Evaluation:

    The thesis is assessed by a panel of experts based on scientific merit, methodology, originality, and contribution to the field.

     
  • Oral Defense (Viva Voce):

Students defend their thesis in front of a committee to demonstrate depth of knowledge and scientific reasoning.​
