Details: At this Mathematics Seminar, Prof. Ghaith Hiary from The Ohio State University will present a talk titled "Conjectures and computations with the Riemann zeta function". The host is Prof. Baha Alzalg.
Abstract: An overview of conjectures about the Riemann zeta function and its fundamental relationship to the prime numbers, starting from the time of Euler. These conjectures led to a variety of numerical methods some of which are in use even today.
Short bio: Ghaith Hiary is an associate professor of mathematics at The Ohio State University in Columbus. He received his PhD in mathematics from the University of Minnesota followed by postdoctoral positions at IAS, Waterloo, MSRI, and Bristol. He works in analytic and computational number theory.
