Introduction, Shape of the Earth, Subdivisions of Geodesy, Classical, dynamic, Spatial, Earth Datum , Topographic surface, Physical surface - The Geoid, Mathematical Surface - The Ellipsoid, deviation of the Vertical, The coordinates, elements of Triangulation & Trilateration, Concept of Altitude, modern positioning systems, Inertial positioning system IPS, Satellites and Global positioning system GPS, Geodetic Networks, The National Jordanian Geodetic Network, Elevation determination, DTM, use of Radar interferometry, Applications of geodesy and surveying, geological, geophysical, tectonic applications, Case studies, dams monitoring, deformations, subsidence and sinkholes related to the Dead Sea lowering, Elements of Map Projections, Cylindrical, Azimuthal, Conical projections, essential map proprieties.
