Achievements of the student Rahaf Abu Mayyaleh

Rahaf Abu Mayyaleh, a Biology B.Sc. student at the University of Jordan, received an invitation to represent Jordan at the Dubai Parties conference in her capacity as the founder of the Forehealth Education Project. During the event, she seized the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister, His Excellency the Minister of Environment, and the Jordanian Ambassador to the UAE. Her recognition was attributed to her role as the leader of one of Jordan's prominent projects in the field of green sustainability.

The Forehealth Education Project specializes in creating educational tools for children using environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials. Each educational game is intricately connected to a specific learning objective. Accessible through a QR Code, their educational platform at learn.4healthedu.com further enhances the educational experience.

In the course of the meeting, a conversation with His Excellency underscored the significance of entrepreneurship and innovative Jordanian initiatives in positively impacting the present environmental landscape and alleviating diverse emissions within Jordan. This, in turn, contributes to the reduction of the escalating effects of climate change. His Excellency conveyed his pride in all entrepreneurial endeavors led by the youth, demonstrating his keen interest as he listened to the noteworthy accomplishments of various projects.

Abu Mayyaleh also participated in the COP28 conference to talk on behalf of the Jordanian youth about their experiences in the environmental field, the most important challenges they face as young climate activists, the importance of their participation in COP28, and its great role in communicating our Jordanian experiences in the environmental field to the world. In addition, she talked about the most important improvements that they aspire to develop in Jordan's environmental experience.

She was also nominated by the UNICEF office in Jordan to attend a four-day training on environmental negotiations in November 2023 in the UAE. This program stands at the forefront of equipping young negotiators for international conferences in the environmental sector, covering all aspects related to environmental issues. It plays a crucial role in preparing and training young individuals for participation in the COP28 conference, providing an immersive learning experience. The program offers a comprehensive understanding of key developments within the official global negotiating arena, shedding light on how diverse nations engage in negotiations concerning global environmental decisions and policies before their adoption.

As a proactive young woman engaged in youth and climate initiatives, she received an invitation to participate in a private meeting in the UAE related to the German government's endorsement of the Declaration on Children, Youth, and Climate Action.

Her responsibility was to elucidate the contents of the declaration and highlight the significant steps taken by the Jordanian government for the youth post-endorsement. This presentation took place in the presence of notable figures such as Anna Luhrmann, State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Office of the German government, and Kitty, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF. It's worth noting that the Jordanian government also ratified the same declaration in 2022. This declaration signifies Germany's groundbreaking commitment to expediting inclusive climate policies and actions, with a specific focus on children and young people, both nationally and globally.
