The Natural History Museum or the Animal Museum was established in 1972. Nevertheless, the idea started way before that and during the establishment of the Department of Biological Sciences.
The museum displays animal samples which represent a national wealth necessary for studying the wild life in Jordan . This samples collection are utilized to study the animal's distribution in Jordan , their migration routes, localities, and their interaction with each other. Moreover, the museum accommodates large number of invertebrates specimens collected from the Jordanian coast of the Gulf of Aqaba , in addition to an aquarium that shows some of the fishes and their natural habitats.
