Graduates of this program are expected to:
- Develop knowledge in classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and statistical mechanics at an advanced level.
- Design and conduct experiments that demonstrate the students understanding of the scientific methods.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the analytical methods required to interpret and analyze results and draw conclusions.
- Apply theoretical and/or experimental tools to make progress in expanding the frontiers of physics knowledge.
- Utilize a wide range of printed and electronic resources and information technologies to support their research on physical systems and present those results.
- Obtain an introduction to contemporary research in physics-related topics.
· Communicate effectively the results of their research to professionals within their subfield, and within the broader physics community, through both oral presentation and written work.
