LAMBDA Physics Group at the University of Jordan (UJ) is excited to kick off its celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025) by releasing a video on 14 April 2025 (World Quantum Day 2025).

In this three-minute video, undergraduate physics student, Maisan M. Awadallah, will present a hands-on demonstration of single-slit diffraction pattern, depicting the beauty of one of the most fundamental laws of quantum mechanics, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, in an artistic, yet informative, way. In a home-made experiment, Maisan has transformed a few inexpensive objects (an empty bracelet case, a laser pointer, and her mobile phone camera) into a vibrant demonstration of quantum effects.

It's worth mentioning that this video "Quantum Effects in Front of Your Eyes" was produced specifically for “The Beauty of Physics: Bridging Science and Art!" contest, organized to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the LAMBDA Physics Group at the University of Jordan, in conjunction with the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025) and the International Day of Light (IDL 2025).

By publishing this 3-minute filmed demonstration on 14 April 2025 (World Quantum Day 2025), the LAMBDA Physics Group aims to ignite a spark encouraging other UJ students to participate in a hands-on exhibition that will soon be held on the University of Jordan campus.
