The Mathematics Department at the University of Jordan aspires to be recognized nationally and internationally for excellence and distinction. Major and non-major Mathematics students in this department will receive outstanding preparation for graduate studies or professional careers or for entry to the workforce in industry or academia, through innovative high quality instruction from a team of distinguished faculty in up-to-date computer labs . The department aspires, with its well-known experienced faculty, to be a valuable and expert resource of consultation for the community and for businesses and institutions. The department also recognizes the role of research in the development of its faculty members and graduate students. Therefore, the Department plans to hold conferences, workshops and seminars on regular basis. The department also encourages and funds its faculty to participate in international specialized conferences and workshops

Learning Outcomes for the Math BSc Program at " The University of Jordan" Students completing this program will be provided with sufficient mathematical knowledge and training to begin a career teaching mathematics at the secondary school level or to begin a career at banks, insurance companies, or other industrial sectors. Program graduates will have also sufficient mathematical knowledge to begin graduate studies in pure, applied mathematics or Statistics. Therefore, it is expected that students completing this program will be able to:
1. Identify, formulate, and solve broadly-defined technical or scientific problems by applying knowledge of Mathematics and Science and/or technical topics to areas relevant to the discipline.
2. Formulate or design a system, process, procedure or program to meet desired needs.
3. Develop and conduct experiments or test hypotheses, analyze and interpret data and use scientific judgment to draw conclusions.
4. Communicate effectively with a range of audiences in oral or written forms and exhibit ethical and professional values.
5. Reflect the impact of technical and/or scientific solutions in economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
6. Function effectively on teams that establish goals, plan tasks, meet deadlines, and analyze risk and uncertainty.
7. Utilize research methods, critical and creative thinking skills to assess and analyze information) to solve problems properly, then draw valid reasoning and logical conclusions leading to true consequences.
8. Utilize techniques, skills, and modern scientific tools such as mathematical packages, statistical software, graphing calculators, and online resources necessary for professional practice.
