Masters In Mathematics / Program Overview


The program began in 1972, and was the first master's program in mathematics in Jordan, and the student has to finish 33 hours in one of two tracks:

Thesis track:

- 15 hours Compulsory courses.

- 9 hours optional courses

- 9 credit hours in the preparation of a thesis

Non-thesis track:

- 24 hours Compulsory courses

- 9 hours optional courses

- Pass the comprehensive exam

The courses include abstract algebra, mathematical statistics, analysis, topology and applied mathematics

Program Aims:

1. Developing effective critical thinking for students, providing them with a high ability to abstract and providing them with knowledge and skills in pure and applied mathematics.

2. Develop students' skills for effective communication.

3. The student should combine applications, theory and problem solving.

4. Students use technological tools to solve mathematical problems.

5. Students should be able to secure a career as teachers of mathematics in universities and higher institutes.

6. Students should be able to complete their doctoral studies in mathematics.
