​I am a plant biologist and molecular biologist. I am currently running three research programs. The first one aims to understand plant cell wall biology. This has a direct impact on producing plants that are resistant to plant pathogens, tolerant to drought and salinity stress, and having higher growth rate, which leads to higher crop production. The second one aims to investigate the potential use of medicinal plants as antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancer drugs using nanotechnology. The third one is to study plant genomics in some plants that are adapted to biotic and abiotic stress.​
