Plant water relationship with special emphasis on osmoregulation and water stress in higher plants, plant light interactin including the role of light in photosynthesis, photoperiodism and photomorphogenesis, plant hormones with special reference to their metabolism, transport and mode of action; nitrogen metabolism and biological nitrogen flxation, secondary plant products and defense compounds, development physiology with emphasis on juvenility, senescence and abscission.
