Course Description :Axiomatic systems: consistency, independence and completeness, finite projective geometry, a brief critique of Euclid, the postulates of connection, the measurement of distance, ruler postulate, order relations, plane-separation postulate, space-separation theorem, angles and angle measurement, protractor postulate, further properties of angles, triangles and polygons, congruence postulate, parallel postulate, similarity, Pythagorean theorem, theorems of Ceva and Menelous, Morley’s theorem, Erdös-Mordell theorem, circles, central and inscribed angles, cyclic quadrilaterals, Simson line, nine point circle, lines and planes in space.
