Biography: Max Salman is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Waterloo in Canada. His main area of research focuses on using novel geophysical and remote sensing methods to characterize the hydrogeologic distribution of water and ice content in permafrost-discontinuous regions in Northern cold regions and the Canadian Arctic. He received his Honours Bachelor's Degree in Geology and Master's Degree in Geophysics from the University of Waterloo. Max is a commercially licensed airplane pilot and has professional experience globally in remote areas of the world performing airborne geophysical surveys as a co-pilot on survey vessels, on-board geophysical operator, and project manager. He currently serves as a Senator at the University of Waterloo, and is the former Vice-President of the Graduate Student Association at the University of Waterloo, and has served as the founding President of the University of Waterloo Geophysical Society.
